Meet Jennifer
Jennifer graduated with her bachelor's degree in Human Development - Lifespan Track with a minor in Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino. She received her Post Bachelor's Certificate in Speech-Language Pathology at California State University, Los Angeles. Her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology was earned at California Baptist University. Throughout her time in college, Jennifer served as a one-on-one teacher assistant for children and transitioning aged youth with developmental disabilities. After graduating, Jennifer became a school-based speech-language pathologist where she served students ages 2 through 21 with various needs. Her time in the school setting allowed for collaboration opportunities with several professionals. She had the honor of creating playground and classroom communication boards for her school district while witnessing her students' communication flourish across settings. Jennifer is experienced in communication devices (Augmentative and Alternative Communication - AAC) including evaluations, communication partner coaching (family members, teachers, and numerous professionals), and device setup.
Jennifer created Playing Our Part Speech Therapy, P.C. to promote speech and language strategies in children's natural play and daily routines. Her mission is to collaborate with families in order to discover ways to easily integrate speech and language throughout their day. Jennifer is dedicated to serving children and educating families through play-based learning strategies. Her goal is for children to generalize acquired skills into their everyday lives, ultimately increasing a child's independence. She understands the importance family involvement has on a child's wellbeing and strives to promote collaborative learning. Therefore, parent questions, comments, suggestions, and participation are met with open arms. Therapy with Jennifer will feel like play to your child as her warm, spirited personality sets a welcoming tone.

Jennifer was raised in Redlands, CA and has stayed close by, currently residing in Yucaipa, CA. She spends her free time knitting, playing board games, baking, and swinging a racket out on the tennis court. A new skill Jennifer has been exploring is gardening, which has been a rewarding and beautiful experience. She will get a laugh out of any cheesy jokes and puns you have to share! Jennifer has been married to her husband since January 2021 and welcomed a new puppy into their lives the summer of 2022. Her favorite therapy activity is bubbles, which gives P.O.P. Speech Therapy, P.C. a personal meaning.
